The Africa Mercy is Mercy Ships’ flag hospital ship, dedicated to alleviating the suffering of Africa’s poor by providing medical aid and long-term preventative measures.

April Fools!

April Fools! I’m not leaving the ship you guys! Don’t be silly, I just got here. As of today I’ve been in Africa exactly 4 months, which means I’ve got 20 more to go. Unless, of course, the chaplains really do send me home.

Here’s hoping I make the cut ;)

Thanks for putting up with my April Fools. I was having a hard time coming up with one that didn’t involve faking my near death. My mom would not have liked that. Don’t forget to follow along on Twitter for the photo of the day! I’ve got a good one coming for today that is definitely not a prank.

    Jay, Diana and I just read the post of your “sad” news. We were very “sad” and almost prayed for you. Fortunately, just before we prayed, we got on your blog and saw the joke. You are lucky because any prayers offered for someone who “lies” on April 1st are immediately turned into curses, according to an ancient Hebrew proverb. So, you were that close to losing all your hair!! I can tell you- the curse is real.
