I’m currently shooting for $2,000/mo in support, which covers everything from room and board to travel (flying to and from Africa is expensive), evacuation insurance, savings, etc. Presently I’m at $870/mo raised and need to have $1,400/mo pledged before I can go to Africa after finishing my training in Texas this fall.

I also need money up front for outfitting and passage, although most of this has been covered at this point. What I really need right now is pledged monthly support, even $10/mo will help though I’m hoping for contributions around or over $50/mo.

To raise up front costs I’ve been working on various fronts, like selling everything I own in a big yard sale. I’ll also need to tie up loose ends here (like canceling my cell phone contract).
